Are you eager to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering and contribute to a project with real business impact? As an intern, you will play a key role in industrializing an innovative manufacturing concept originating from a successful Master's thesis, with the potential to reduce manufacturing costs and improve welding quality. This is not a typical internship focused on supporting day-to-day operations; you will contribute directly to transforming a promising concept into a robust production-ready process and may take ownership of major work packages depending on your capabilities and performance. This full-time position has a latest start date of March 2027.

Tasks

  • Drive the industrialization of an innovative welding concept from proof-of-concept to production implementation.
  • Plan, execute, and evaluate manufacturing trials to validate process performance.
  • Analyze process data and identify opportunities for quality, productivity, and cost improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams, equipment suppliers, and subject matter experts.
  • Support machine modifications, process validation, and process optimization activities.
  • Prepare technical documentation and present results to key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to project planning, risk assessments, and technical decision-making while independently driving assigned work packages.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret manufacturing and quality data.
  • Hands-on engineering mindset and genuine interest in manufacturing technologies, automation, and industrialization.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive technical topics to completion.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with fluent English language proficiency (German is a plus).

Benefits

  • Diverse global headquarters community of over 2,100 colleagues from 70 nationalities.
  • Early responsibility with opportunities to make a visible impact on the business and customers.
  • A transparent development framework to reflect on strengths, explore growth opportunities, and shape your career journey.
  • Flexible and trust-based working model including remote work, workation, and sabbaticals.
  • Relocation and family support including childcare services and integration assistance.
  • Opportunities to contribute to social impact initiatives both locally and globally.
  • Inclusive culture supported by more than 60 employee-led activity networks.
  • Modern campus with onsite gym, restaurants, mobility benefits, and outdoor activities.
